What We Do
We are passionate about curation. As a first step toward better games curation, we bring a daily list of releases that we consider notable. We literally evaluate every game we see released onto Steam. As a baseline, we try our best to evaluate authenticity in terms of effort. We will check things like: pedigree of the developer, third party coverage, marketing presence, and press kits. Ideally, this will mean that more genuine efforts get looked at, resulting in more wishlists, then purchases, and finally word of mouth. We can’t play everything but we hope we can enable others to play and talk about more good games. As of right now, this is limited to the Steam storefront but could be expanded further.
You can follow our efforts on Twitter or visit our Release section to keep up with our daily lists.
Reviews and Other Features
We will use Reviews, Indie Weekly and other features to continue highlighting under-covered games.
We showcase many games on our daily Release list – far too many for us to play. As such, we will attempt to review the ones that speak to us most. This may result in mostly positive reviews. However, we promise honesty – we will:
- Provide pros and cons even in positive reviews
- Publish reviews of games we found to be unfavorable
Any games reviewed are either purchased by notablereleases.com or received as press copies from the developer. How we acquire games has no bearing on our review.
We use a 5-point system based on how strongly we recommend a game:
- 5 - Highly Recommended
- 4 - Recommended
- 3 - Cautiously Recommended
- 2 - Not Recommended
- 1 - Stay Away

Generally speaking, we source images from press kits or storefronts. We usually cut our GIFs from official YouTube trailers, if available.
